Brookelynn Thomas Leaves Her Mark at Palo Verde, Commits to La Sierra University
Brookelynn Thomas arrived at Palo Verde College from Las Vegas, Nevada, holding both her Associate of Arts degree and her high school diploma. A 2024 honors graduate of Mater Academy East, Brookelynn made her mark on the court as a standout player for Pirates.
In her debut season, the 5’9” point guard led the team in scoring, averaging 16.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, earning her IEAC First-Team All-Conference honors. After receiving multiple offers, Thomas recently committed to continue her academic and athletic career at La Sierra University (Division II) in Riverside, California.
Brookelynn is the definition of a true student-athlete. From winning at the Nevada High School State Track Meet in the 200 meter, to graduating with an outstanding 5.6 GPA, her path to earning a basketball scholarship to La Sierra University is a reflection of work ethic, focus, and drive.
Off the court, she continues to chase her goals. In the fall, Brookelynn will major in Computer Science with a minor in Chemical Engineering, at La Sierra University.
“Brookelynn was one of the most dedicated student-athletes we've had at Palo Verde," said head coach Derrick Jackson. "She led by example both on and off the court, and with her strong academic drive, I have no doubt she’ll thrive at La Sierra University. We’re excited to witness all that she accomplishes next.”
